Sainath's Advice on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 :
These are the current industry trends:
- The browser is the platform
What does this mean? THis means that most software development now and in the future will target the browser and not individual operating systems. Windows development though important - by current industry trends, web applications will dominate.Look around - Microsoft has been releasing newer versions of Visual Studio targeting the browser.
So the immediate answer to you question is that you should ideally continue to focus on ASP.Net.
However, if the Windows development job is offering you niche product development experience in some complex technologies, you can take it up. Programming skills are generic and required in equal measure in designing both web based and Windows based applications.
