 Career question asked by: Upasana| Posted on: 5/17/2012 6:49:04 AM | Views: 845 | Points: 30 |  Print |

Hello,
I have been workingi in SEO (Search Engine Optmization) for 5 yrs 7 mnths. But left the job becoz of some personal reasons. Now after 2.6 yrs I want to re-start my career. But looking to change in ITIL related.
Pls guide me to know if I can enter into this industry after ITIL foundation certification. Would companies consider my resume for service delivery ? And would the certification enough to get a job ?
I have done PGDIB in international Business.

Pls help.

Sainath's Advice on Sunday, July 01, 2012 :
Hi,

I have personally not seen anyone switch from SEO into service delivery. The ITIL foundation serves as a good starting point in terms of having fundamental knowledge about service delivery but please do not expect to laterally join into a supervisory role directly. In all probability, you may need to get into a initial service desk kind of role depending upon the kind of skills you possess, critical ones being communication skills (verbal & written) and level of fundamental technical knowledge expected by the client. It varies from organization to organization but a start is definitely possible.

Regards,
Sainath S,
