Advise on Salary Negotiation

 Career question asked by: Webspider2012| Posted on: 6/21/2012 2:11:37 AM | Views: 1312 | Points: 30 |  Print |

Dear Sir

I have more than 9 years of experience in I.T , I started my career as a developer ,When i switched my company i got promoted to I.T Manager and then Head I.T .I am well experienced in Software development in Vb6, Vb.Net, C# and Asp.net and also well versed with I.T Infrastructure Management .I am also a Microsoft Cetified professional (MCSE) Due to some crisis in I.T I again switched to another company and now working as PL. I am not satisfied with my current salary (I am getting 3.96 per annum) , my current working location is Madhyapradesh. If i move to bangalore , Pune (For positions like I.T Manager , PL) how much minimum salary i can expect / negotiate from the employer.

Regards

Sanjay

Rajesh's Advice on Thursday, June 28, 2012 :

Yes definitely you are underpaid given your current experience.  Not to de-motivate you or anything like that, but jump..and look for another opportunity.

It also depends on the salary structure in your area.

Industry average for a PL with 9 yrs experience in metros should be around  8  to 12  lacs per annum.   Sometimes this will go far extreme based on needs and skills requirements.
