Kapil's Advice on Monday, June 20, 2011 :

If you have excellent programming skills you have every chance for a software job. All you need is to prepare yourself with type of questions asked in interview for software programming and clear the interview.

You must be aware that you would be competing with lot of fresher for the same profile fresh out of market. You will have to be far ahead of them with maturity, experience and extra knowledge edge  of things more than programming like devlopment tools, SDLC phases tools , testing tools, designing , OO programming. If you want it badly you will defintaley get it.

There are always opportunities for people to change their profile and many people I know have actually moved from teaching to softeware development. But be ready and do not let any opportunity go because there may not be too many.
