Going to a Job interview wearing Pyjamas

Going to a Job interview wearing Pyjamas

When I was still a college student I heard that there was once someone who once went to a job interview wearing pyjamas. When the person who was telling a story said the reason, I was intrigued to do it one day. According to the story teller, it was because the guy was a Guru in C++.

I am not a Guru and I am in a level that when I look for a new position I always get it. Well maybe the story teller used the word Guru in a wrong place; maybe I am in a position to do what he did. I don't own decent pyjamas so I wouldn't wear pyjamas to an interview.  So anything that is not usually worn in a workplace would be appropriate for this expedition.

I usually get companies who call me asking if I am in the Job market. I always give them the same answer "No I am not"

Recently I was intrigued by a caller who claims to belong to a certain company that was following my work here in Dotnetfunda and they requested a chance to have a meeting with me. They were a very good candidate for my expedition. They knew what I did and they have read my articles in Dotnetfunda and some of their developer received help from me in Forums like Daniweb and codeproject years ago. I was popular and they were keen to get me on board.

So I agreed to a meeting. I did not want to start my expedition in my first meeting. I had to make sure that there is more than one meeting with them. So they invited me for a 2 hours test and I finished it in 20 minutes. Before I left I switch off my phone because I knew they would want me to come back and offer me a Job. Later at night I switched on my phone, got some few voice mails from them and I ignored their emails for two days. After two days I replied to their emails and they organised another meeting as expected and I gave them another day, just created an excuse so that I will have enough time to choose what I will wear.

On the day of the interview I was wearing a short sport trouser and a Puma vest and I like my socks as I was suffering sinuses before and I went to the reception and the lady working at the reception recognise me and ask me why was I wearing like this, I said I forgot if I was supposed to come to an interview and this is what I could find this morning.

When my fans (Interviewer) came to the reception, his first words were "Cool" I like it man. I smiled and I was marshalled to the interview room where I met 4 people, one of them wearing tie and one casual and a lady wearing a formal suit.

After an obvious interview I was told the usual words "We are still interviewing other candidates and we will be in touch"

I thank them for their time and they did also thank me for my time.

The following day after 14:00 PM I received a call that I must check my email, I have been sent a Job Offer, after looking at my email the money was more than what I earn.

I achieved was I wanted to achieve; it was to get an offer at the same time wear things that we not worn in the interviews.

NB: Don't do this, this does not mean it will work for you
