What is TypeCasting?

Hi,
Can any one tell what is the Difference Between these two.

1. Eval("StageRecDate").ToString() &
2. (string)Eval("ApplicationName")

type casting is an explicit conversion.
LHS, RHS variables must be compatible with each other and there are changes for a data loss because the type of the destination variable if a smaller size than (or is a base class of) the source variable.

The Convert class makes it easier to convert between all the base types.

Example of Type Casting

int num1 = 5;
int num2 = 2;
float avg = (float)(num1 + num2) / 2;
