We have a large farm application in SharePoint 2010 environment, which is hosted on 3 WFE servers and 2 application servers.
Last week we faced an issue because of which we were not able to access the applications.
After restarting application pool and SharePoint services on all 3 WFE's and application servers, application was working fine.
What could be the possible reason for this and can such scenarios be prevented ? and What alerts can we set in order for us to get early warning?
Also what are the other scenarios where we need to restart the WFE and App Servers ?
