Hello

Master page is a concept introduced in asp.net to minimise the designing efforts.

It is used to have a common look and feel

for eg :-

If you want that your menu and footer should be visible on all pages then before in traditional asp you had to put that in all pages manually but with master page you just have to design the common view in Masterpage and just called the master page in the webform and you will automatically get the design that you have input in master page

ASP.NET master pages allow you to create a consistent layout for the pages in your application. A single master page defines the look and feel and standard behavior that you want for all of the pages (or a group of pages) in your application. You can then create individual content pages that contain the content you want to display. When users request the content pages, they merge with the master page to produce output that combines the layout of the master page with the content from the content page.
