As per MSDN, the maximum number of rows that can be added into a DataTable is 16,777,216.

DataSet is basically a collection of DataTables so number of DataTable a DataSet can hold is 2,147,483,648 provided your Server memory supports that :)

Hope it answers your question.

Sheonarayan is write according to his concept of figures as MSDN shows it. But remember sometimes practically its not becoming possible. I've faced one issue in which my DataTable object was containing too large amount. Because of this it was getting System.OutofMemory Exception. It can be cured with different scenario like pagging and removing virtual memory cap but still its not 100% successful in any case. So in short it can hold data as much as RAM/Virtual memory of server can handle it. Even value get differs in 32bit and 64bit systems. So you can explain in this way also.
