Hello All,

I am consuming a 3rd party web service and need to ensure below-

1. Response is coming from actual web service.
2. Response is not altered by any hacker.

How I can achieve that I am getting the response from the web service which is I am consuming?

One more thing I am consuming http web service not https.

Early response must be appreciated.

http does n't guarantee intact and original response from the server in some cases so you should ensure that you are using https protocol and this you can do by installing SSL certificate at the IIS server that is hosting the web service. If the data coming from web service is not sensitive, you should not worry too much about it.

When you consume the web service by referencing it, it ensures that the data is coming from actual web service you have referenced.

Thanks for the quick response.

Web service is developed by any other organization and I do not have any control over that. I am just consuming it and getting data.

But I am not sure if these data changed by any one during transmission over network.

Can we implement any security at client (Web service consumer) to ensure that we are getting data from intended web service. And if any one hacked it between then can identify it.

Can we ask any token from the 3rd party web service team?

Thanks

You can do it, however this is not full proof.
