Development Projects : A new project/ product develop from the scratch. Or a project made in a different language say python or PHP. Now the company wants to invest in a new technology and to do the same project from the scratch.

Enhancement projects : Generally applicable for customization. Means some new features needs to be added. That is enhancing or adding new features to the already existing one based on the new requirement. In this case there is no need to build the project right from the scratch.

Supporting Projects Projects has been developed and are deployed in the production server. Now clients finds the bugs and reports which needs to be fixed. These kind of projects are the supporting projects.

Hope this clarifies.

Development Project: It's a new project.
Enhancement Project : project already made but something new change or we can say add more functionality.
Supporting Project : This is a different concept, calling project customer care handle inquiry and support customer care.

Development projects- Develop a application from requirements, design architecture and code implementation, final Testing.
Enhancement projects- Already code base and design will be available, based on that you need to implement some feature additional options.
Supporting projects- Project is available for customers, need to do some changes which are minor and also if found any issues/Bugs fix that and re-deploy the same.
