Thanks in advance.

--------------------------

Hi ,

need to stop users from editing the document .. However users are allowed to edit the document properties. I need to write the code in the event to display some warning message when an user clicks on edit document.

So please let me know where this edit document event can be captured..

(And by doing people and grops and doing setting changes , it will stop user editing from doc property as well which i dont want. )

Your response is highly appreciated.

Thanks and regards,
Raghavendra SK

You do not required the code for that.

You can set the permission as guest to that user,

System will make the edit rights disable for the user.

You can set it by

Site Action > People and Groups

Select the user and set the rights for it.

You can stop the approve permission.

So the person who are not having the rights for publish and approve, cannot perform the operation.

So until you publish the document it won't be visible to other users.

And if this is not the solution please describe your problem in much details. So, I can study and answer you properly.

Thanks for posting.
