Hi

Every Database have Data file (*.mdf) and Log File (*.ldf)

1. Whenever the write(Insert/Update) operation perform on a Table, First the data will be written into the Log file(called Gost Data) after then the Data will be pushed into Data file (*.Mdf).

2. Whenever the read(Select) operation perform from the Table, First the data will be loaded into the Cache(Read-ahead read) after then the Data will be pulled to the client.

The Pushing/Pulling the data from Log/into Log will be performed by the Relational Engine of SQL Server.

Cheers
