Is WCF Platform independent

Hi All,

Is WCF platform Independent ? When we use netTCPBinding, is it become bounded within .net only..?

Hi Dipankar ,

coming to your first question Yes(Absolutely) WCF is a platform independent Service . It can run only on windows but the services can be consumed by any other languages like java etc...

Hi,

For your questions, WCF is a platform independent service. As far as i studied netTCPBiding is not specific to .net apps..

Hi,

For your first question, the answer is Yes, WCF is a platform independent Service. It can be accessed from anywhere as because it is simply a soap request and a response, but you need a windows server for which the codes of the WCF service you have written to be exicuted.
Which means you need a Windows server to install the WCF service
