what are the issues with restart the iis

i want to restart my iis from server. my application is in the application pool of the iis server.
now i want to restart iis,
what cares should i take?

whether it will affect to all my settings?

whether it affects my permissions?

You know in South Africa its Confederation Cup, and its Brazil , and the game has started , so before i rush , let me Answer you


When you Restart the IIS everything will stop working after it start again.

It will not affect any Settings , it only restart the IIS

No Permissions will be affected.

That is Simple

Open the file "C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\web.config" and locate the <healthMonitoring><rules> section.


Add the following lines within this section (there will already be two similar lines to guide you):

 

<add name="Application Lifetime Events Default"
eventName="Application Lifetime Events"
provider="EventLogProvider" profile="Default" minInstances="1" maxLimit="Infinite" minInterval="00:01:00" custom=""
/>



There will now be ASP.NET events created whenever a worker process recycles and the message will give details of why the recycle was triggered. To view these open Event Viewer from Administrative Tools and you will find them within the Application section.
