Difference between Asp.net calendar control and Ajax Calendar Extender

Ajax Calendar Extender :

1) It provides customizable date format. ( e.g : Format="dd/MM").
2) It provides client-side date-picking functionality.
3) We can enable/disable Culture. (EnableScriptGlobalization="true" EnableScriptLocalization="true")
4) Attached to any ASP.NET TextBox control.

where in .net calender control, above things are not possible to set.
