what are the considerations , i forgot every thing,

Simply Copy the root folder and its subfolder and paste it into the other computer and it should work provided you have everything installed in the other computer (the software and other environments are same as previous computer).

This is also called XCOPY deployment.

The error must be something regarding configuration.

Copy the published folder to another computer and publish it again. See what are the issues you get and let us know.

Hi James,

I think, you Visual Studio .Net Web Project is deployed to IIS. Am I right? If that is so, then you can't move your files as it is accessing by the IIS. If you copy the files you will not get any issue.

To do this, just goto your IIS & delete the same web application & then try to move your web project. You can definitely do that.
