I recently created a .NET C# program, utilizing SQL Server 2008 Express Edition SP2, and using Visual Studio's 2008' built-in installer feature.
When I install this application onto a computer running Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit), I get the following error: "Failed to update database "C:\PROGRAM FILES\PROGRAM\DATABASE NAME.MDF" because the database is read-only. I do not get this
error in Windows XP SP3 32-bit. The program works as expected in Windows XP.
For now, I did notice that I can run the program as an administrator to get it to work. (I assume related to this post: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sqlexpress/thread/7361516f-7d5b-4e93-8c85-2d36d4600d6e).
