Venkatmanohar's Advice on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 :
Dear Raja,

I suggest to go ahead and join the company as it is MNC. Support and maintenance are part of software development. Join there and slowly ask your management to involve you in core development projects. Gain domain knowledge in the current work then automatically they will pull you to core development.

The nature of work could be fixing the issues in production environment, deployment on immediate basis and liaising with the Development team to solve the problems. Also if there are any enhancements to be done to the project will be given to you for development. This varies from company to company the way the agree with the customers. Learn this first and join.

Wish you all the best. Wish you a very happy and prosperous new year.
