Unable to cast error

Hi guys,

I am working on a website,i have used VS 2005(ajax 1.0) VS 2008(ajax 3.5) running the application both now gives me Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingAuthenticationServiceSection' to type 'System.Web.Configuration.ScriptingAuthenticationServiceSection'.

I have attached web.config file, please check and let me know what is causing this error.Plz help me out

1) How many web.config do you have

2) If more than one, What are the Version of .NET in both, if different that is your Problem , they are conflicting

Hi,

Your problem seems that it is mainly caused by the System Enviroments. Ajax-enabled program runs depend on .Net Framework2.0 or above.(If your application developed based on .NET Framework 3.5, please make sure it should be runs on .Net Framework 3.5) Sometimes , the newly created ajax application runs on .Net Framework 1.1(IIS). So please check it first. Second, you should check whether Asp.Net 2.0 Ajax Extensions V1.0 has been installed or not.
