What is stream in c#?

Hi ,

what is meant by stream and what is the use of using stream?
can any one tell it with real time ex.

0	Stream is an object which is used to transfer the data. we have file streaming,memory streaming etc. Stream is an abstract class. There is a generic stream class,System.IO.Stream, from which all streams are derived. Reader writer streams such as StreamReader and StreamWriter are not streams by their meaner, they are not derived from System.IO.Stream, they are designed to help to write and read data from and to stream. Stream is an object which is used to transfer the data. we have file streaming,memory streaming etc. Stream is an abstract class.
