Database connection error while connecting to database

I am trying to connect the my project to the Database i have created. I entered Server name, Login credential, Database name. Established a test connection, test connection is successfully, Then I clicked on OK button, I am getting error as

"this server version is not supported you must have microsoft sql 2005 beta 2 or later"

Please help me out to resolve this problem.

As the error suggest, it is telling to have later version of SQL Server. By the way, which application you are trying to connect to? SQL Server 2005 is very old database, the current version is Sql Server 2014.

Actually I am using SQL 2008. but error is displaying as use SQL 2005 beta 2 version

How is your connecction string looking like, the typical database connection looks like below

<add name="LogDatabase" connectionString="Data Source=My-PC;Initial Catalog=MydatabaseLog;User ID=dnf;Password=dnf;" />

See if your database connection string is proper.

name is an identifier for this connectionString in the web.config file.
var connStr = System.Configuration.ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["LogDatabase"].ConnectionString;
It has nothing to do with the database connectivity.
