hi ..

i want to play video inside the gridview.. i used asp.net media player control..
i have placed the media player control inside the grid view as item template..

then i was stored video files inside application folder and the path of the video files are stored in database..

then i was bind the database values to gridview..

then i was select a particular row then the correspoding video files are played inside the gridview in the local system and also i created virtual directory and again i was select a particular row then the corresponding videos are playing inside the gridview..

but the problem is when i hosted the same application and i clicked select button means the video is not playing..

need ur suggestions

So what you mean is that in your development machine this is working , but when you host it it does not work ?

I have Few Questions for you.

Did you check that the Path that the database is pointing to is still available after you host your application. meaning that try to access the path on the URL to that Video and see if you can see it before you test it in the application

e.g

www.Domain.com/MyVideos/Hello.wmv

If the video location is not resolved then take it from there, Test it and tell me if the video is playing from the location

can you post the code how you are assigning video path to mediaplayer control?

give browse rights to the folder which contain videos and then give assign the path to mediacontrol as Vuyiswamb suggested earlier

else try to map your video path on server with Server.MapPath("VideoPath").
