mmh met this question six year ago in vbforums.com , i think i started the post :) notorious ne :)
i will not post any links , i would like us to debate this here on DNF so that other might be refered to DNF one day.
But ya in today's life C++ programmers are decreasing.
*) I takes long to develop something in C++ than in C# :)
*) New technologies like Silverlight and other Technologies dont support C++.
*) I am not sure if you can even create WCF Services in C++
*) WPF can never be done C++
As you can see almost the future Technologies of Microsoft dont have C++ in the Road map
If C# one day can be strong for Embeded Programming or let me rather say, if C# supported multiple inheritance we would be having a different conversation today. Java is dead for me, C++ is not near the end, but in the future it might be classified as Cobol
