Dear Webmaster,

In our website we can give the rate (vote) only for in articles section. Is it possible to provide the same option(opportunity) in our Codes & Forums section because viewer's (beginners) easily to understand which is the best answer compare to others in forums section and also based on the code in code section.

Thanks,
T.Saravanan

Good Day T.saravanan

We will add your request to the Todo list, but this will only be implemented for the Codes, Interview and other section excluding the Forum section. Reason being that in the forum section we have a functionality to mark a post as resolved , and this is marked by the creator of the post. So if the creator of the post decide that a certain reply is valid and it has solved his problem, then it should be enough for us and there wont be a need to vote on it , and another thing is that we used the resolved functionality to grab the attention of someone searching for an answer in a search engine, you might agree with me that , when you search for something, if you come across 3 Urls like this

http://www.dotnetfunda.com/forums/thread3359-regarding-ranking-system-in-dotnetfunda.aspx[Resolved] ?com=added

http://www.dotnetfunda.com/forums/thread3359-regarding-ranking-system-in-dotnetfunda.aspx ?com=added

you will notice that the first one should catch you because you are looking for a Solution. So we cannot add the voting functionality in the Forum section because it will conflict with the "Resolved" functionality.

Thank you for posting at Dotnetfunda

Hi Vuyiswa Maseko,

Good Day,

I accept your point. But in our forum section, more no.of user's are submitted his answer for a single forum.May be all the answers are suitable to that post.If other user (apart from creator of the post) can view that post means he also feel about to give his vote based on the correct answer, then only i can suggest vote functionality in our forum section.

Based on the rate new viewers easily to find out the correct answer for the post, if the poster cannot mark as the answer.

Thanks,
T.Saravanan
