Installing SQL Server 2005/2008 in WINDOWS 7

Hi,

For past couple of weeks, im trying to install SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 in my WINDOWS 7 machine... But some wer or the other im getting issues and i couldnt able to complete it successfully.

If any one of you installed in windows 7 pls help me to install the same.

Hi Karthik,

I remember, I was also facing some issue however I have successfully installed and it is working for me.

Thanks sheo for the links... I was using Windows 7 Ultimate version and SQL Server 2005 express edition... I tried many solutions given in the sites. but the thing is installation is carried out completely without any problems... It creates an instance and also the credentials... When i try to connect to the instance(Server) it tells that the credentials are not valid.

When the reinstalled and gave the correct credentials as well it shows the same error. Finally i saw that the sql server browser services are stopped. i tried to start that but its disabled... Finally after loads of effects i can able to start the Sql server browser. Again i face the same problem

You are not able to login either with NT user or sa password?
try through command prompt
