Problem regarding server client connection

Hello All,

I have a serious problem.

I have two windows application- server and client.

In server I want to show the status of the application
Connected
Disconnected

client will connect to the server for data and get it from server.

I tried to do that by asynchronous callback.But it did not work.

Please help.

In server you want to show the status of Client or Server itself ??

I want to show the status of client in the server .

Let say client has opened the application.It should be shown in server that "Connected".If client closed the application, it should show "Disconnected" and so on..


How will I do that ?

When ever you try to access some server object raise an event that would show the connected message and when its done show message as disconnected.

Thanks guys for ur reply.

Here is the requirement.

It is a windows based application.

One insatance will behave as server and other will be client.

Server will be able to monitor the status of the client application and transferring data.

Whenever slient open the application it should be visible in server that application is connected along with the form name and the corresponding port number.

whenever client close the application, it should be shown in the server that the client is disconnected.

Sounds good?

Yes Dipu.. WCF is best suited for your requirement.

Where you can have couple of service methods which would be called on load and and on unload of the client application to let the server know that the client is connected or disconnected.
