difference between Web references and services references

What is main difference between Web references and services references in ASP.net
what are the Pro and Con of each services.

0	The web reference is used to reference a traditional webservice asmx and the service reference is used to reference a wcf service. The different between these types of service , is that wcf service support more protocols than tranditional web services.
