Could you help me understand in what conditions should we use DataReader or DataSet? [Resolved]

* when we are using database operations only for taking data and displaying the resords and doesnot involve any insertion and updation and deletion statements and other manipulations.that is when we are reading the data only ,then we have to use the datareader.data reader supports connected architecture,it is forward only.here connected architecture means the database connection is open until the dabse operation are performed.

*data adapter is used with insertion,updation,deletion statement and using it as a return type from a web service,we have to use the data set.data adapter automatically opens and closes the connectin when required.
