Hi,I want to learn sharepoint. Can I install it in my PC so that I can practice and learn this technology? I want to learn both development and administrative part of sharepoint.

Share Point Foundation server is free and is useful for basic functionalities.

Yes..you can install share point on win 7, win 2008. Also you can install any operatiing system on virtual machine(VHD) and install sharepoint on that virtual machine.
You can get Virtual machine with set up of sharepoint.
