Have a look at this article - http://www.dotnetfunda.com/articles/article1547-how-to-retrieve-identity-auto-incremented-value-using-output-paramter-thr.aspx

Basically you need to have a check in the web.config or anyother config file that which database vendor you are going to use and use the corresponding interface version of ADO.NET objects like IDBConnection, IDBCommand, IDBDataAdapter etc.

A good article on this is found on http://www.codeproject.com/KB/database/data_access_layer.aspx.

Hope this helps.

Thanks

SheoNarayan,

Ya itz a gud article.
But after some research , got to know providers playing important role,to connect databases.
1.) Is der any possibility - where - without usage of providers - I can access the database ?
2.) Any free providers ?

Thanks in Advance.
