Hi,
I just like to use crystal reports in my vb.net application
in this regard - i add new item and selected crystalreport
its open a site and request me to download the latest version of crystal report
from this site: http://www.businessobjects.com/jump/xi/crvs2010/us2_default.asp

Is this correct - i need to download and install the crystall reports ?
I thought VS2010 is already having crystal reports (inbuilt)

pls. let me know whether i have to download the crystall report setup or is there any other way
to use the crystall reports in VS2010.

regards,
Thiru.

Crystal Report has been dropped from Visual Studio 2010. But don't worry, it is available as a separate download from the SAP web site.

Download Crystal report from this link, or just directly paste the link below to your address bar and it will ask to save an EXE file.

Hi Sanjay,
Its free (and is recommended by microsoft) - we can use it.
i am using the same now in production.

Note: we have to use crystalreport and crystalreport viewer in Framework 3.5
where as we can use the crystal report but not crystal report viewer in framework 4.0
For using crystal report viewer in framework4.0

i got a solution from microsoft forum as:
switch back/changing to framework4.0 to 3.5 save and close the project.
open again do the same viceversa (ie: 3.5 to 4.0) -- now you can see crystal report viewer in toolbox :-)

Its funny but some one from that forum suggested like this -- i too did the same and its working fine now.

regards,
Thiru.
