I've added a function to my web page to export the page data to Excel using the RenderControl method and the HtmlTextWriter. It works well, but some formatting problems exist. For one thing it is adding some blank columns within the HtmlTable control which is being rendered to Excel. I have stepped through the code to verify that the columns (cells) really are not there. Does anyone know why this is happening? It's also changing the background color within a DataList control which is being constructed within the HtmlTable.
