How to dynamically create rectangles on a form

Hi all,
I am new to .net generally.  I have a database defining the layout of a number of rectangles on a form.  In a Windows application I simply read the data and create a label on a form and set the top, left, height & width properties to define its position on a form.
How can I do this in ASP.net?  The ASP#label control does not have a top or left property.
Any pointers will be much appreciated.
