I am having a hard time deciding what will work or not for my website as far as a login and memberhip system goes. I have a File System based website designed, and now I need to add a mambership system to it. I need it to have roles, login and logout capabilites, profile spicific data-storage, pasword retreval, etc... Here is the thing though. I am uploading my files to a remote server, so I'm thinking that if I use the ASP.net Administration Tool built in to Visual Web Developer, it is only effecting settings on my computer and will not copy over to my server when I upload the files. What would be the best was about using a membership system with a website that will be uploaded to an FTP server? Should I use a SQL server database for it? What would be the best way doing this? IF you could, please post toutorials if there are any or any content that might help!? Thank you very much.
