i was just wondering for my site app i have been working on with is using foreign keys needed?
at moment i have been watching vids etc and grasping some of it however the database side of it i am a bit confused, as i want say my table users which has a username field then i have a clients contact details and in that table i have assigned to field. i can list the usernames in a drop down menu when adding the client from assigned to pointing to usernames in users table but do i need a foreign key between this and do you need to use them at all and if so when?
just wondering if someone could break it down a bit for me, the vids are great but i just dont know if it is needed, also is it best not to have just one table for your app?
