I created a popup menu list using CSS under VS2008. But when I deployed the application to Windows 2003 server, the menu does not work as expected. The popup sub menu does not display directly under main menu item. The second level sub menu cannot be selected. I tried to deploy the same app to the IIS server on the Windows XP machine which has VS2008 installed, it worked perfect.
I checked the .net frameworks on both machines and they all have .net 2.0 SP2, .net3.0 SP2 and .net 3.5 SP1 installed. IE8 is used to view the web page. Does Windows 2003 miss anything?
It seems on XP rendered web page, when the mouse moves to the menu item rectangle area, it's considered as "hover" on the menu item (the menu item area is highlighted). But on Windows 2003 rendered web page, only when the mouse moves to the menu item literals (E.g "Open"), it's considered as "hover" on the menu item.
