Email drop-down box values

Hello,
I have created a web form which includes a drop-down, check-boxes, and text fields. I think the text boxes work, but I can't get the drop-downs or check-boxes to work. I get an error: "BC30311: Value of type 'String' cannot be converted to 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.DropDownList'"
