Hello I'm trying to figure out how to do something relatively simple.
I'm trying to "Canonicalize" my app. to help with PageRank and SEO in general.
I'm trying to accomplish 2 things:
301 redirect any request comming in without the "www" to the full url
example: mypage.com/about/news.aspx ---301---> http://www.mypage.com/about/news.aspx
301 redirect any page that has index.aspx to the root of that directory. Other pages, like contact.aspx must remain in the url.
example 1: www.mypage.com/index.aspx ---301---> www.mypage.com/
example 2: www.mypage.com/about/careers/index.aspx ---301---> www.mypage.com/about/careers/
example 3: www.mypage.com/about/contact.aspx GOOD! No 301! :)
