date format

Hi All


I am reading a date value into a datarow item r1 as shown below

        r1.Item("DateModified") = Server.UrlEncode(subdirectories(i).LastWriteTime)
but the oupput shows like
       4%2f29%2f2010+12%3a43%3a55+PM
how to format this ?
in the gridview where I am binding, I used dataformatstring={0:d} also not worked since
Server.UrlEncode(subdirectories(i).LastWriteTime) itself returns

 '4%2f29%2f2010+12%3a43%3a55+PM'
any ideas related to format this
