About html drop down list

Hi Everybody,

I have html drop down list in page.I need to get the value of drop down list in code behind file of asp.net.
So how can i get the selected value of drop down list into string variable define in code behind file.
And one thing i have to used to htmml drop down list instead of as drop down list.
