I currently have data of over a 1000 users in a database with usernames, passwords, and which depart that user is in. I am currently creating an asp.net website. I want that when a user logs on the website giving his/her username and password, it checks that the username and password corresponds to the data given in the database. When the user logins into his/her account the user is automatically assigned into that role in the department taken from the database so that he/she can access only information related to his/her department.I saw the problem with form authentication is that I think it cannot load the usernames data from the database or even assign him automatically to the role based on the database's data.
