I have a DropDownList that has 3 hardcoded options in the .aspx page that I always want to appear as options. I also want to databind data from my SQL server in the code behind. I know how to do the databind and I know if I set AppendDataBoundItems = "true" that it will keep the hardcoded options and add the SQL data, but the problem is that if the page does an async post back to get a new set of SQL data then that just adds to the hardcoded and the old SQL data. Is there a way that each time the SQL data is bound it will override the old data but keep the 3 hardcoded options with out having to code them back in on the backend?
