I've got a few applications running on a Windows 2003 Virtual Server. Every few weeks, I get a call saying the login won't work. I'm using the active directory membership provider in the shared config file for these applications. Restarting IIS doesn't work, but if I recompile the application (usually just uploading the folder again), it works. I would like to be more helpful with an actual error message, but when switching to debug mode, that recompiles the application, removing the error. Do you know what would cause the AD membership provider to "freeze" every few weeks?
