Pass message between pages?

Let's say I have two pages:
1. A list of users page with a "create user" button
2. A create user page.
When the user clicks the create user button on page 1 they are redirected to page 2 (I already have this part).  After entering the user info, the user clicks an OK button on the create user page and this redirects them back to the list of users page (I already have this working as well).  What I want to do now is to display a message on the list of users page that says "user created successfully".  How can I pass this message from the create user page?
