ok this is the old standard question time and time again, but most answers don't work for me.
I can't do a page redirect cause at the bottom I am populating a results grid. I can't pass the results of the grid via parameter so I don't want to do a page redirect back to the same page.
The data being submitted into the form can be duplicate information. The only unique identifier is an auto generated ID column. Since insert command would pull a new ID and I don't know what the id would be from the submit till after it is preformed I can't use the database to capture the duplicate insert.
I know the 3rd option is to check for a session variable or such, but will that work if I have clear button, or am allowing a user to hit the submit button mulitple times. IE user can enter the information in and press submit, then submit again and insert the same information a 2nd time if needed. I know doesn't sound logical but its the business decisi ...
