I use a global "Tools" class, the entire site is built on it:

Page Page = wsBaseVantageTools.CurrentPage;

return Page.Session["tools"] as wsBaseVantageTools;
}
else return null;
}
}
And at the very begining of picture.aspx.cs, I just run this code:
Tools = (wsVantageTools.CurrentInstance ?? new wsVanta ...
