I'm a member of a pretty die-hard listserv of savvy GIS developers (I do not consider myself one of them) who do a lot of development with web-mapping and working with location-based/geospatial data. However it seems like they pretty much exclusively use opensource frameworks and solutions (OpenLayer, GeoServer, GeoDjango, PostGIS, etc.) on a UNIX based system (including all the vibrant colors of Linux). I've been developing exclusively in ASP.NET for about a year now and I'm really enjoying it. I would like to continue using ASP.NET but I also would like to start integrating web-mapping and location-based data into my apps. I know that SQL Server can handle geographic data and I've seen ASP.NET sites built successfully with the Google Maps API. But I also saw recently that you can develop using the Bing Maps service...
