Hi

I'm very new to WCF, and would like to know if the following it possible. We have a SQL 2008 db, the data in table UNIT is constantly updated via other sources and I'm not allowed to query the db table every time. So I've sort of devised a plan to firstly load a local xml file into a dataset, query that and if it don't exist in the dataset(ds) then only query the local db, insert entry in the xml and save it again.

I'm trying to create a "sort" of local cached version on the service side, my problem now comes when data changes in the local db, it needs to update the local xml dataset. I was thinking of using sqldependency, but I'm not sure if firstly it's possible and will work everytime. Also if it's the most optimum solution for the problem. I'm instructed to use WCF service so I'm pretty much stuck with WCF.

If you have better solutions please help, maybe I can convince the clients.
