I am new to asp.net and have been developing in classic asp for the last 6 years and have a block on my mind as to how to tackle the following query in asp.net and would appreciate any help!
I am retrieving a resultset using a dataset server control. I have used a template to display the data so I have control over how the data is layed out. I want to show a hyperlink only once above a set of records that have the same country name and when a record has a new country name then I want to display the hyperlink again with the new country name, and so on e.g.
England
record
record
Spain
record
record
record
In classic asp I would have tackled this by wrapping an 'if' statement around the following code to display the hyperlink (if a new record with new country name) and would not display the hyperlink if it has the same country name as the record above.
